Three Reasons To Become A Patron

If you are a patron of my writing and activism, thank you for your support. This post isn't for you. You're welcome to stay and read on, but today I'm talking to non-patrons.

Hello, reader who is not a patron! I hope you've enjoyed my public posts. Perhaps you've come here from pandorablake.com, or maybe from my Twitter or a recommendation from a friend. Either way, you're here reading this post and I appreciate it! I'd like to tell you a little bit more about what's going on here on my Patreon. Why do people subscribe, what brings them here, and what keeps them here?

1. Be part of something

Conversations with my patrons have taught me that this is overwhelmingly the main reason that they are here. We are a community and a movement. We are champions of bodily autonomy, advocating for human rights and free expression at the intersection of social justice and sexual freedom. We educate each other, share solidarity, and my patrons inform my writing and my campaigning. Being surrounded by constructive support is an incredible motivator. We can achieve so much when we are all in it together.

2. Power my writing

When I initially set up this Patreon, a lot of my activist work involved in-person events. Panels, protests, meetings and workshops. In 2020 that feels so out-dated. The nature of my activism has evolved, both because of world events and personal circumstances. I've shifted the focus here to my writing, which is fuelled by my political values and experience, is compatible with childcare, and is Covid-safe. Writing a book has been an ambition of mine for as long as I can remember, and with the support of my patrons I was able to complete a first draft earlier this year. I'm working on revising the second draft, and when I finish it, it will be thanks to my patrons. The income I get from Patreon allows me to dedicate time to writing - whether it's an online blog post, an academic journal article, or an entire book

3. Get cool stuff

Whatever tier you're subscribed to, there are rewards up for grabs. If you want behind the scenes glimpse into my creative process, and the ability to give me live, real-time feedback on my writing, you can get access to my "Watch Me Write" sessions. If you love watching kinky videos, you can get a recurring membership to Dreams of Spanking for the lifetime of your Patreon subscription. If you want to pick my brain, you can book an hour's one-to-one with me. And if you want to spread a message of positivity and pride, you can wear one of my new SHAME LESS t-shirts. There are tiers to suit every budget and every level of interest, and all patrons get access to my exclusive feed of patrons-only writing.

Together we've achieved a lot, and had a lot of fun in the process. It will only get better if you join! You can opt-in to email notifications every time I post so that you never miss a thing, and my inbox is open to you. Come on in, we don't bite (unless you ask nicely).
